GRAMMAR 31: Future tenses

GRAMMAR 31: Future tenses

  • ” What are you doing after the lunch today?” –
  • “I am meeting Pat”.

This is a classical dialogue between two friends.

But let´s look closer at the grammar they use. It´s present continuous, isn´t it?

At the beginning of our journey into the English language we have learnt that present continuous tense is used to talk about “now and here” moment.

Now it´s time to add up to the use of the present continuous.

We can also use this tense to talk about confirmed future plans: appointments, arrangments.

We are going to the cinema tomorrow. They are signing the contract on May, 5th.
